Florida Water Treatment and Home Filtration: In the United States there are regulations regarding the companies that provide drinking water to its citizens. In order to fall under these rules the utility must serve 15 households minimum or 25 people over the course of 60 days in a year. This is the same criteria that are used by the Provinces of Manitoba and Nova Scotia in Canada.
Additionally, the EPA has its own definitions. The EPA classifies water districts into three different classifications. They include the Community Water System (CWS), the Non-transient Non-community Water System (NTNCWS) and the Transient Non-community Water System (TNCWS). A CWS is most common and serves the customers all year.
